My Surrogate Mommy Cherise

Since I was an abandoned puppy when I came to Princessland I did not have a (dog) mommy anymore. Of course this happens to more dogs so I am not alone in that perspect. Fortunately I was not the only dog in Princessland. Cherise, an other Staffordshire Terrier almost instantly became my surrogate dog mommy. Cherise was found in the Newark/Bayone area in New Jersey. Maxine Feimer found her (also tied up to a pole) somewhere with several cuts and a badly injured back leg. She took her to the vet and had her repaired. Shortly after that she was brought down to Princessland on or around December 11th, 2000. Cherise came with an other dog which was named Rossini. Cherise was a very cute dog. My daddy took several pictures of her when she was first put in the pen back in the middle of the forrest. The plan was at that moment that the rescue group would find her a home and she would be adopted. However, this never really happened. Cherise was living in the pen with Rossini and Hope. When my daddy would feed them Cherise would not eat and although my daddy reported that there were to many dogs at that moment and too little experience to closely examine all the dogs. When Cherise was brought in for her alteration the doctor noticed that she had a problem with one of her eyes. So, the day after her alteration my mommy drove with her to a special eye doctor in Clinton, NJ. The doctor explained that the problem Cherise was having could have two main reasons. The first just mostly malnutricion. The second mostly abandonment. Mommy and Cherise bonded on that drive to Clinton, NJ and back. After that, Cherise came to live in the house and basically became mommy's favorite dog. Cherise however had issue's. Although mommy and daddy were never completely sure they had a very strong suspicion that Cherise use to be a Pitbull fighting dog (or bait). She was definitely very well trained. She know how to "sit", "stay", "lay down" and "roll over" without any training from my daddy, although my daddy enforced the "stay". The first problem encountered with Cherise was the fact that Mozart officially was the alpha female of the pack. Within a couple of weeks after Cherise came in the house Cherise and Mozart had the first fight while daddy was not around. They ended up rolling down the stairs while were fighting. Shortly after a second fight like the first one happened and my daddy told my mommy that this could not go on and that she had to choose between keeping Mozart or Cherise. Adopting one and keeping the other. My mommy did and she adopted Mozart to the Irvine Family. Mozart loved kids and was very good with them. So the Irvine Family was a great home for her as the Irvine's have two children Analise and Thalia. Now Mozart was gone, Cherise became the alpha female. However, she could not leave Prince, the alpha male alone. Other than that, Cherise had several fights with Autumn and other Staffordshire Terrier. Autumn however found a good home as well.
